Keeping track of all the E3 press conferences. Here are my thoughts so far
Sony: All the games that were shown look the same. If Sony couldn’t excite me with Metal Gear Solid 4* or the new Syphon Filter game, there is no hope for PS3 in my eyes. It’s such a shame that innovative PS2 games such as Guitar Hero 2 and Okami will be left in the dust when they are released so close to PS3
Nintendo: Very captivating. The game lineup is much more intresting than the PS3. The only problem is that a price wasn’t announced in the conference.
Microsoft: I see some potential from the Xbox 360 beyond Halo. Fable 2 is quite attractive even though I never played the original. I’m dissapointed that the new Kingdom Under Fire isn’t going to be a strategy game. Although Xbox Live Arcade seems cool, I assume the other systems also have some retro programs already or coming up.
Now that the consoles are done, I’m waiting for impressions on S.T.A.L.K.E.R, Medieval 2: Total War, Command & Conquer 3, Spore, and Shadowrun.
*5/10 10:34 pm: Just saw the extended trailer for MGS4.Much better than the flaccid teaser shown in the press conference. I feel good about MGS4 again, no thanks to Sony.
