I think Mcfarlane did the animation for the Disturbed video. If you remember Pearl Jams “Do the Evolution”, you should recognize it.
As for the Genesis video, the puppets were taken from a British TV show Spitting Image.

Hrrrm, I think you proposed a really good comparison.
I think the first one really is the winner for it’s mere specifics. It really addressed some major ordeals of the time with known world leaders. Not only that, but it faced the president himself with satire. The only thing it really lacked really was action, and movement.
This is where I think disturbed’s video is slightly stronger. Where it lacks on content it’s inadvertently asking people to throw off the world powers, fight, and make nations for ourselves. It faces monetary corruption head on, and I really liked that. The only thing is that it could give youngsters the false impressions that ALL governments are corrupt and we should resist aimlessly. That’s why I liked the first one better because it focused on what was really happening at the time.
Besides, it looks like Genesis put a HELL of alot of time into those puppets and really utilized quite a bit of of affects with ’em.
Anywho, did Disturbed use McFarlane animation team?

Maybe it’s because I’m an utter whorew for animation, but I prefer the Disturbed version.
