Because Halloween is near, and I want to take a break from writing on someone else’s topics. I’ll write about a great fear I have.
Ever since I saw Sarah Connor’s dream scene in Terminator 2 at age eight, I have been scared of nuclear weapons. I am quite scared of it since it fuses the horrors of conventional warfare-related carnage and the futility of the situation where everybody dies and nothing rebuilds. Some of my favorite media have to do with this topic, such as Dr. Strangelove, Fail-Safe, the game Defcon, The Day After, Canticle for Liebowitz, and Fallout. Not even the bright cities that arose from Nagasaki or Hiroshima can cure my belief that nothing will survive.
Fortunately, I have found a movie that I saw once on satellite TV that is relevant to the topic. I would like to share it with you. It makes for a good Halloween horror movie.
